Sophie Jean White

Salt Lake Acting Company - Sophie Jean White

SOPHIE JEAN WHITE (She/They)
Sophie Jean White is a proud graduate of the University of Utah’s Actor Training Program. Performing here marks the fulfillment of a longtime dream: playing a rat on stage. No, she’s not kidding. Sophie sincerely thanks Penny for making that dream possible. Since graduating, she has spent her time luring friends into “non-optional hangouts” under the clever guise of self-produced theatre. Favorite projects include Sender (self-produced), Radiant Vermin (Salt Lake Acting Company’s Making Space for Artists Program), Frenchez (short film), The Old Man and the Old Moon (University of Utah), New Work: Liminal (Flying Bobcat Theatre), and performing with Utah’s longest-running improv team, Laughing Stock. She also wrote and directed her original musical A Night to Dismember!, which won Outstanding Original Script at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival. When not on stage or behind the scenes, Sophie can be found tumbling down creative rabbit holes, overcommitting to projects, or enjoying her favorite role yet: “favorite girl” to her three-year-old niece—who she is especially excited to share this show with.
