Shannon began at Salt Lake Acting Company in 2008 and has worn many hats here since then. She has been Associate Artistic Director since 2014. SLAC directing credits include MERCURY by Steve Yockey, readings of LAURA AND THE SEA by Kate Tarker and BLEEDING HEARTS by Steve Yockey, and assistant director on STUPID F*CKING BIRD and the past three years of SATURDAY'S VOYEUR. She's appeared on SLAC's stage in STAG'S LEAP, SATURDAY'S VOYEUR '09-'11, GO DOG GO!, and HOW I BECAME A PIRATE. Other Salt Lake City directing credits include GIDION'S KNOT (Pinnacle Acting Company) and HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE (Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival). Shannon programs and runs SLAC's annual playwrights' lab, which has developed plays by Kathleen Cahill, Hilary Bettis, Dominic Finocchiaro, Winter Miller, David Jacobi, Hansol Jung, Kate Tarker, Troy Deutsch, and Jon Tuttle. In Washington D.C. Shannon worked in artistic development at Arena Stage, was a directing apprentice for the Kennedy Center's Directing Intensive: Developing the New Play, and was a company member with Flying V Theatre. She holds her B.A. in Musical Theatre from Weber State University and her M.A. in Arts Management from American University.
