Shannon has been with Salt Lake Acting Company since 2008, taking a brief hiatus to pursue her MA in Arts Management from American University in Washington, D.C. In her time there, Shannon worked in the Artistic Development department of Arena Stage and as Development Director for Flying V Theatre. While writing her thesis on new play development, Shannon was selected as a directing apprentice for the Kennedy Center's Directing Intensive: Developing the New Play. At American University, Shannon served as Executive Chair for the annual Emerging Arts Leaders Symposium – a day-long conference for young arts leaders from around the country, produced in conjunction with National Arts Advocacy Day. Directing credits include GIDION'S KNOT (Pinnacle Acting Company), HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE (Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival), and SLAC's readings of BLEEDING HEARTS by Steve Yockey and LAURA AND THE SEA by Kate Tarker. 2017 marks Shannon's fourth year assistant directing SATURDAY'S VOYEUR. She also assistant directed SLAC’s production of STUPID F***ING BIRD. She will direct SLAC's premiere production of Steve Yockey's MERCURY this fall.
